The colostrum replacement should be 105°F when delivered to the calf. Follow label directions to meet the desired levels of IgG.Dairy Calf and Heifer Association Gold Standards recommend feeding colostrum or colostrum replacement at a rate of 10 percent of the calf’s body weight within the first 2 hours of life.
Feeding Calves for Best ResultsBegin feeding calf milk replacer on day 2 after colostrum or colostrum replacement feeding. Provide fresh, clean water along with a high-quality, palatable calf starter feed on a free-choice basis. Only use low sodium water (<50 ppm) for mixing milk replacer and feeding calves.
